2012 European Auto A/C Convention: New Aircon Refrigerant will lead to Significant Changes

By Ron Henselmans, EAAC

MACS has cooperative relationships with several international shows and organizations. EAAC is one of them based in the Netherlands. Here is information about their upcoming event.

The 2012 European Automotive A/C Convention and Trade Show will feature comprehensive presentations and workshops on HFO-1234yf auto a/c systems, their safety aspects  and how workshops should prepare themselves. Also new revolutionary auto A/C  concepts where A/C and cooling systems will be integrated,  R-134a counterfeiting  and other topical  issues that affect the service industry will be part of the agenda. One of them is the significant impact that HFO-1234yf pricing will have  on daily business in the service sector. Presentations will be offered by notable speakers such as German VDA car makers,  Robinair,  Fiat and the world’s most knowledgeable auto A/C service experts.

The event will be held on September 17th and 18th in Frankfurt a.M. (Sheraton Conference Center and Towers, Frankfurt Airport), Germany immediately following the 2012 Automechanika.

HFO-1234yf has been chosen by the industry to succeed R-134a as the refrigerant of choice in Europe. Due to it’s flammable character the choice for HFO-1234yf is not totally undisputed however.  The 2012 EAAC will be the first time that German car makers will  present HFO-1234yf systems, safety  aspects and demands in public.  The very high price of the new refrigerant and oil will force service workshops to develop totally new technical and commercial strategies.

During this exclusive event,  new HFO systems will also be on display. Thus the EAAC attendants will be given the opportunity to physically see what they can expect in the near future. This will also include live demonstrations of  new service tools, including revolutionary, state of the art service equipment for R-134a and HFO-1234yf  systems. The program is particularly focused on the interest of the vehicle a/c service specialist with presentations,  technical workshops, demonstrations, a trade show and networking events.

The EAAC is also an international meeting platform between the OEMs  and the a/c service industry segment. The presentations and workshops during the EAAC are in English with free simultaneous translation facilities into  German available at no extra charge.
