Meet the teacher

Continuing our series of blogs introducing some of the teachers and presenters that will be presenting classes at the upcoming MACS Training Event and Trade Show in February. Each of these class leaders has been chosen for their detailed knowledge of their topic and their ability to present it to you.

Oscar Contreras, Sanden International (USA), Inc.
Instruction in Spanish:  “The refrigeration system under the hood”

Oscar Contreras is a native of Mexico and received his engineering degree in Mexico City. He has more than 30 years of experience in automotive air conditioning. He has worked for Trane, McQuay, Tekno Group, and is currently at Sanden International (USA), Inc. in Wylie, Texas as Sales Division manager for  International Sales.

(During this presentation, Oscar Contreras will share many stories of his adventures on the road doing cool down tests on passenger coaches before laptop computers even existed, as well as cool down tests on passenger cars performed in a state-of-the-art wind tunnel, but while going through A/C basics. Oscar will cover the refrigeration cycle and its four processes, changes of state, and most importantly, service & repair information and proper procedures to replace a compressor.)

(The 2013 MACS convention is a perfect environment to see things from a different perspective, challenge ourselves and look for good information so we can get something out of it, not only for knowledge, but also to use it on our daily activities and make our lives easier.  No matter what we do, I’m sure we all have very busy schedules on our jobs, always trying to find ways to be more efficient and is normal to forget some of the basics. Probably you know most of the information to be shared during my class, but it is always good to remind….. I’m sure that after my class your ability to diagnose will improve considerably by using basic A/C knowledge that you already know. MACS is the perfect time and place.”)
